I do this for the exact moment a client looks in the mirror and still recognises herself, only better. It is not about covering anyone up or transforming them: it is about walking away from the chair feeling like yourself on your best day, and having that hold all evening.
I have been working in professional makeup for over five years, now across Medellín, the Aburrá Valley and the towns of eastern and western Antioquia. Country weddings, quinceañeras, graduations, photo shoots and corporate events: each has its own pace, lighting and timings, and over the years I have learnt to read them before I pick up the first brush.
Working in Antioquia has its own technique. Between the heat in the west, the humidity in the east and Medellín changing weather three times a day, makeup that is not properly set will not survive to the first dance. So I work with waterproof, humidity-resistant products and seal in layers: I would rather spend ten more minutes on skin prep than retouch halfway through the party.
I work with what you already have, not from a template. I look at your skin tone, the shape of your eyes, how you normally dress and what makes you uncomfortable, and we build the look from there. If you never wear a red lip, your wedding is not the day to start.
I speak English and work regularly with clients who have recently moved to Medellín. If something technical comes up mid-conversation, we simply put it in writing on WhatsApp so nothing is lost in translation.
