A graduation is an awkward day to make up: there is a ceremony under auditorium lighting, photographs in a gown outdoors, and then a celebration that can run into the night. And in the middle of it, a cap going on and off repeatedly. The makeup has to survive all of that without being retouched every half hour.
So I keep it natural but very well set. Nothing too matte, which flattens the face under harsh auditorium lighting, and no heavy highlighter, which turns into an odd shine on the forehead under a photographer flash.
Ceremony time, indoors or outdoors, and whether there is a celebration afterwards. That determines the finish.
If there are several of you, we settle on one location and I send you the running order and each person time in writing.
I arrive with enough margin that nobody leaves for the ceremony in a rush.
